Matthew Ramon obtained his PhD in plant molecular biology in 2006. He worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Jen Sheen at the Department of Molecular biology at Harvard university. After his return, Matthew continued his post-doctoral research in Leuven before joining the GMO Unit at the EFSA. For 6 years, he worked as a scientific officer and coordinator of the Molecular Characterization working group before taking up the team leader position of the Strategic Engagement team in 2019.
